At BarrierBoss, we deliver directly to your site using our own trucks and crew — no third-party freight, no terminal transfers, no handoffs. That's what makes BarrierDirect® different. But it also means every route we run has real costs: fuel, labour, equipment, and time. Order minimums exist so we can keep showing up reliably, on schedule, and with the full white-glove delivery experience our customers expect.
How We Set Our Minimums
Our minimums are based on delivery region, not product type. The further the route, the higher the threshold — because longer hauls carry higher fixed costs regardless of load size. Here's the simple breakdown:
- Local (British Columbia) — $500 minimum
- Express (Alberta) — $750 minimum
- Standard (Saskatchewan) — $1,000 minimum
- Long-Haul (Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island) — $2,000 minimum
These aren't arbitrary numbers. They reflect the actual cost of dispatching a crew and truck to your region and ensuring the delivery is worth doing properly — for both sides.
What Are My Options?
If you're under the minimum for your region, here are a few ways to move forward:
- Add to your order — additional panels, posts, gates, or accessories can bring your total up to the threshold
- Combine with a colleague or neighbour — if you're on a job site or development, consolidating orders is a great way to hit the minimum and share the benefit of free delivery at higher order values
- Arrange third-party freight — if you need a smaller quantity and can't wait or consolidate, we can point you toward third-party LTL freight options for your region, though please note unloading assistance is not included with that option
