Every BarrierBoss panel is Class 3 heavy galvanized — 150 gsm of zinc, the heaviest standard wire galvanizing class — applied AFTER welding, then sealed in our heavy-duty dip-coat. Welds are the natural weak point of any welded panel: typical competitor panels are welded from pre-galvanized wire, which burns the zinc off every wire intersection and leaves hundreds of bare-steel points hiding under a thin dip-coated. That's where they rust first. Our zinc goes on after the welds are made, so the entire panel — welds included — carries full protection. Four sizes: 3' x 6' (most popular), 3' x 8', 4' x 6' and 4' x 8'. The 3' heights suit a standard deck guard; the 4' heights are used on elevated decks and balconies.

Which wire opening is right for a deck?
2" x 2" and 1" x 1" are the tighter meshes normally chosen where a guard must restrict passage. 4" x 4" gives the most open view and 2" x 6" is a wider rectangular mesh. Check your provincial and municipal railing code first, as opening size is what codes regulate.

Framed or unframed?
Unframed is the bare 6-gauge hot-dipped galvanized mesh for your own railing frame. Pressure Treated and Western Red Cedar options arrive framed and ready to mount between posts.
