Is chicken wire good enough for a run?
No. Chicken wire is a containment material, not a predator barrier — a determined dog goes through it in seconds and a raccoon pulls it apart. A rigid welded panel stops both.
What mesh size for a chicken run?
1" x 1" or 2" x 2" on the perimeter. Both keep birds in and predators out.
Can I use these for the coop itself?
No, and this matters. The coop and any night enclosure need 1/2-inch hardware cloth, which we do not sell. Raccoons reach through anything larger, and weasels and rats pass through openings that look far too small.
How tall does a chicken run fence need to be?
Five to six feet if you have foxes or coyotes, and apron the bottom 12 inches outward to stop digging.
