What is corten steel?
Corten — properly A588 weathering steel — is an alloy that forms a stable, self-healing rust patina. That patina seals the surface and shields the metal underneath, so it never needs painting, sealing or staining.

Does corten keep rusting through?
No, and that is the point. Ordinary steel rusts in layers that flake off and expose fresh metal. Corten's patina is tight and adherent, so it stops the process rather than feeding it.

Will corten stain my patio?
During the first few weeks while the patina forms, runoff can stain light stone and concrete. Stand it on gravel, pavers or protective pads until the patina stabilises.

Do you still sell the finished planter?
No. We sell the material — custom-length sheets in genuine Corten Steel, cut to your length. Most people building a trough or raised bed are better served by the sheet.

Standard-size items (unused, original condition) — returnable within 30 days, subject to a 25% restocking fee. We pick returns up on our own trucks (scheduled around truck availability), at no return-freight charge to you. Because we handle the transport, you're not liable for any transit damage.
Custom, cut-to-size & made-to-order items — because these are built to your exact spec, they are final sale.
Cancellations — full refund before your order enters production; once in production or scheduled to ship, a 25% restocking fee applies.
