We've stopped selling composite. Our Zero-Maintenance hog wire fence kit is a complete welded-steel system — posts, framed panels, rails, channels and hardware in one shipment — with nothing to fade, warp or replace. Why we stopped: composite fades unevenly on the sunny face of a run, and long spans move enough in heat to pull at their fixings. A damaged board cannot be swapped in isolation either — you are matching a colour that has already shifted.

Description

Composite Fence Panels

Composite fencing — wood flour bound in recycled plastic, sometimes sold as WPC — has grown faster than any other fence material. It looks like wood without the annual staining, and for a lot of yards that is exactly right.

What buyers ask about composite, and the honest answers

Does it fade? Yes. Pigment sits in the surface layer and UV works on it. Most boards lighten noticeably in the first two summers, then stabilise.
Does it warp or sag? Composite moves with heat more than wood does. Long horizontal spans need closer post spacing than the packaging suggests.
Is it flammable? It contains plastic and wood flour. It burns. In a wildfire-exposed yard that matters.
How long does it last? Manufacturers commonly warrant 15 to 25 years against structural failure — not against fading.

Why we build in steel instead

Every one of those is a place welded steel simply does not have a failure mode. Galvanized steel does not fade to grey, does not creep in heat, does not burn, and does not have a board that needs replacing in year twelve. It is not the cheaper material on day one. It is the one you stop thinking about.

Standard-size items (unused, original condition) — returnable within 30 days, subject to a 25% restocking fee. We pick returns up on our own trucks (scheduled around truck availability), at no return-freight charge to you. Because we handle the transport, you're not liable for any transit damage.
Custom, cut-to-size & made-to-order items — because these are built to your exact spec, they are final sale.
Cancellations — full refund before your order enters production; once in production or scheduled to ship, a 25% restocking fee applies.
Damaged or defective on arrival — fully covered. Every shipment is freight-insured end to end, so anything that arrives damaged is replaced or refunded at no cost — you're never on the hook for transit damage.
